Michael Hill: Press

"Singer Michael Hill offers here a selection of 10 holiday songs, and he covers all bases with a mix of secular and religious melodies."

..."Because he grew up listening to Elvis and used to parody "Blue Christmas" a lot as a youngster, he chose to center this album on that tune."

"Attending to the more religious music, Hill sings "Silent Night," "What Child is This?" and "The First Noel." For each one, arranger Bob Singleton has added new words or musical phrases, lending an even richer meaning to the original verses...

"Hill has the voice and enunciation of an experienced performer. An extra bonus is a brand-new Christmas song: "Who is This Child?" written by Danny Davis. A poignant melody with simple words, it might be the track you program to play more often than the others."

..."This will be a nice pre-season gift for the religious music fan."

Hey Michael, Great Voice, Great guitar. We're a Traditional Jazz Radio Station, but for this Holiday music line-up we did something entirely different and side-stepped our Jazz for Christmas Music that injected different ideas and yours was the best album to achieve this goal. Blue Christmas is MY favorite. Have a good Holiday. Best Wishes from Ski Country--- Mt. Washington Valley, New Hampshire! Frank Pingree WJSK Radio 101.1

Nearly wore the CD out over the Christmas period. Refreshing to hear Christmas classics redone. A 100% chance of being played in my Christmas in July show. Enjoyed sharing this great sound with my listeners.

Who is this Child?
Cool christian stuff
Great chord changes. The bass is very effective in this in setting a vibe. The guitar player's solos are juicy and of talent. I can tell you all are talented musicians. You guys could be accepted to many uprising festivals across the country.

Another great asset to this song is the lyrics. I can understand them, and they make sense. The mood is carried by the falsetto voice, and the vibrant guitar and bass. Good work

Heaven Has A Place For A Wah Wah
This has a very 70's sound to it but with touches of the 21st century. The first thing that reverts to the 70s is the wah wah guitar, been a while since I hear it, didn't know I missed it so much. Choice of timbre for the keyboards was right on the button, really matches the groove you create with the guitar. The horn section also blends really well with the song.
Great prodcution overall, really balanced, really well mixed. Heaven might actually have a place for a tune like this.
